Koh Chang

So, I spent Korean Thanksgiving in Thailand. We went to a tropical island and slept in bungalows. It was sweet, but now I'm ill.

Happy Chuseok!

It's Korean Thanksgiving next week so school's off!

We celebrated by dressing in hanbok and making some traditional Korean foods.

More pictures of the kids looking cute are to come but for now I'm off to Thailand! Wish me luck!

A Variety of Korean Dining Experiences

Some squid jerky. Mmmmm.

Kyle looking less than enthusiastic about leaving Korea. :(

Liam doesn't look very happy to be in my photograph. But really I think I was taking a picture of the cold kimchi soup. Not my favorite Korean food really.

Nothing says goodbye like samgyeopsal.

We tried to eat Pizza School on our way to the airport on Robert's last day. It was closed. So, we stood there looking forlorn for maybe 10 minutes until the coffee shop owner next door invited us in to wait for its opening. Tragic.

Gamjatang. Spicy potato and pig spine (?) soup. It's up there on my list of favorites here.

Heidi and Sungbae love it too!

This is shabu shabu. I clearly really like soups. This one is not spicy and is composed of a broth that you add noodles, meat and vegetables to. Also totally delicious.

Heidi's excited!

Here is a picture of the broth pre-ingredients and little dishes with all of the things to add. Food is just so much more interactive in Korea.

Anyway, all I've been doing lately is eating. So that is all that I have pictures of. I leave for Thailand on Saturday, though. Wish me luck!!!
