Korea Year Two. Foodblog style.

So, I'm back in Korea. Things are going well overall. My new class is pretty good etc.

I've been trying to be vegan since I got back, and that has been a bit difficult really. I've been tricked by spicy noodles with hidden chicken as well as soymilk with animal bones in it. I'm getting pretty good at ingredient-list reading though, and I am happy I brought back so many supplies!

Here are some of the things I have eaten!

I bought a food processor! Now I can eat things like hummus tahini wraps.

Devon and I met for brunch and went to The Loving Hut in Itaewon. It's a big chain of vegan restaurants with a weird "Supreme Master" cult-like Buddhist sect behind it.

But my veggie burger was delicious! The "meat" was a pineapple ring.

The cab ride home after an epic shopping spree at the foreign foods market. Ginger ale!!1 Katie looks thrilled.

We made vegan cheese!!!! There was much food processor shaking involved.

Here are the two final products: A tofu mozzarella that wasn't great and a cashew american (the one covered in paprika) which was really good.

For Nicole's going away we went out for Korean spicy noodles (that had hidden chicken in them) and then to Praha in Itaewon. Kafka loves it.

Their beer is actually okay, though, which is like a miracle in Korea. I had a chamomile weizen.

I made some vegan quesadillas with the tofu cheese.

And a really nice taco salad with tvp and the salsa I made with my wonderful food processor!

Okay: So there's that. I swear this isn't actually turning into a food blog. But I feel like I've been spending a lot of my time eating lately and it's been a lot of fun. This weekend I'm taking a vegan cooking class with Katie and one of her friends to learn how to make a bunch of vegan Korean food! So, there will be more food in my blog but I'll try to do sometime besides eat soon!
